DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
The Equal Employment Opportunity Analyst will further the Mission of the Personnel/HR Division, which is to foster a safe, productive, working environment free of discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliatory practices, through training, guidance, support and advocacy services; whereby, allowing the delivery of effective, efficient and high quality services to the public. Duties include: investigate and resolve all harassment and discrimination complaints that involve Wayne County. This position will also handle unemployment claims.
Task and Knowledge
- Investigate and prepare reports regarding internal and external EEO complaints
- Attend special conferences with Union Representatives, Departmental Representatives, and Labor Relations Analyst regarding Harassment and Discrimination complaints
- Manages employee complaint processing and related reporting
- Review all harassment and discrimination training and postings
- Reply to requests for additional information from EEOC and MDCR
- Reviews complaints and reports of investigation submitted by Departmental Representatives to ensure compliance with EEO laws and thoroughness
- Recommend resolutions between management, complainants, EEOC, and MDCR
- Provide counseling to employees
- Advise managers and employees regarding EEO Laws, Personnel Polices, and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Handle unemployment claims
- Additional duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree
- Three (3) years of HR experience or three years of experience investigating harass and discrimination complaints.
